Purnama News|Bintan – In an effort to maintain public order and safety (Kamtibmas) in Bintan Regency, Bintan Police continues to intensify patrols and issue public warnings regarding social ills, particularly thuggery, on Sunday (May 11, 2025).
Bintan Police Chief AKBP Yunita Stevani, S.I.K., M.Si., through Public Relations Officer AKP Prasojo, stated that the Riau Islands Regional Police (Polda Kepri), especially Bintan Police, is committed to eradicating and taking firm action against acts of thuggery that disturb the public and hinder investment in the region.
“Bintan Police and its sector police units (Polsek) will not give any room for individuals committing acts of thuggery that disrupt public order or investment in Bintan. We will take strict action,” said AKP Prasojo.
Currently, Bintan Police is conducting a special operation under the code name Pekat Seligi 2025, which focuses on controlling, preventing, and eradicating social ills, including thuggery. This operation runs from May 1 to May 14, 2025.
As part of the operation, the police are carrying out patrols in areas prone to thuggery and delivering public advisories through the efforts of community police officers (Bhabinkamtibmas).
“We urge all residents of Bintan to immediately report any crimes or suspicious activities to the nearest police officer, Bhabinkamtibmas, local police station (Polsek), or the Bintan Police Headquarters. Reports can also be made via the National Police Call Center at 110 or WhatsApp Bintan Police at +62 813-7615-9283,” he added.
